I’ve spent a few hours compiling a WWI related book list and suddenly remembered I still haven’t watched Blackadder, let alone the final series Blackadder Goes Forth, which is set during WWI.

I left a comment a few days ago which has disappeared. Anyway, love Blackadder.
I recommend a Russian film I recently watched In the Fog. Set during the German invasion of Belarus.
Thanks a lot for the recommendation. This time I didn’t find your comment in the spam folder. I hope that’s not going to happen again.
It’s not getting great reviews in the west and, surprise, surprise, it’s friggin’ depressing, but it’s still good.
Excellent series. I prefer it over the others because of the subject matter. It certainly pounds the war and the generals in particular. Granted not difficult targets, but the dialogue is hilarious at times and Atkinson is brilliant as usual.
I need to watch it. I know I’ll enjoy it.
The whole Blackadder series is brilliant, but the WWI episodes are savagely funny, and a razor-sharp attack on the British generals.
“Savagely funny” sounds good. I should get too it as soon as possible.
