    Yes. It is the funniest war movie ever made (not counting “No Man’s Land”). It also makes references to other famous war movies, so it is not just fluff.

    • I agree. I think I would have to watch it a second time to really see which movies it parodies. I suffered a bit when they parodied Platoon. Sacrilegious. Still funny. I saw a few extremely negative reviews though.

    Ha ha! Yes! Do it! Vietnam’s not really my era so I don’t know much about how this fits into the genre. I have to confess I’ve not watched it all the way through.

    • It does foremost parody Vietnam and American war movies in general. And it sooo politically not correct with Downey Jr playing a black guy. There are actually a few bits that are hilarous towards the end. Suspecting that some people haven’t watched all of it (it’s not exactly subtle) I chose to add the final credits. Tom Cruise is so funny in this.
