Now what? Should I review Tropic Thunder? After all there is a reputation at stake. Btw I think Tom Cruise in incredible in this. Not as good as in Magnolia but really good.

Yes. It is the funniest war movie ever made (not counting “No Man’s Land”). It also makes references to other famous war movies, so it is not just fluff.
I agree. I think I would have to watch it a second time to really see which movies it parodies. I suffered a bit when they parodied Platoon. Sacrilegious. Still funny. I saw a few extremely negative reviews though.
Ha ha! Yes! Do it! Vietnam’s not really my era so I don’t know much about how this fits into the genre. I have to confess I’ve not watched it all the way through.
It does foremost parody Vietnam and American war movies in general. And it sooo politically not correct with Downey Jr playing a black guy. There are actually a few bits that are hilarous towards the end. Suspecting that some people haven’t watched all of it (it’s not exactly subtle) I chose to add the final credits. Tom Cruise is so funny in this.
There was actually more flak here in America over Stiller’s potrayal of a “retard” than over Downey’s black character.
Why are they “the minority of the day”? You always have something like that in the US.
[…] If you don’t want to watch the whole movie, watch at least Tom Cruise dancing. […]
